The below prices are a guide as workshops are usually tailored, so if your not sure what you want drop me a line and I can put something together for you.



Gelatin Dry plate (1 day) £245.00.

This workshop looks at the dry plate process, from creation through ISO and developing. I supply cut glass for both the workshop and for you to use after the workshop (either Holga or 5x4).

One of my favourite processes. Learn to create your own glass plates negatives for use in large format cameras of cameras such as Holgas and old box cameras. This workshops explores the possibilities and beauty of this long forgotten process. We go through everything from glass cutting to coating to development and care for your glass plates. The resulting plates can then be scanned or traditionally printed.


Paper negative (1 day) £225.00

Exploring in-camera paper negatives as well as paper inter-negatives and paper negative as a creative technique. Explores contrast control, ISO, developing and printing.

The paper negative process is a fantastic and forgiving insight into the possibilities of analogue photography and many of the issues that affect this process underpin many aspects of analogue photography.

The joy of the paper negative process is that development takes minutes so you can shoot and develop your negative and then make a contact print all within five minutes so it is a great learning tool.


Salt Printing £245.00

One of the most beautiful processes going, turning photography into a physical object. This process offers a glimpse into the world of early practitioners.

Using salt, silver nitrate and the finest water colour papers, various colours and interpretations can be achieved resulting in very physical and beautiful prints.


Film developing (2 Hours) £50.00

With the resurgence of people wishing to shoot on film I offer a simple two hour workshop on how to develop your first films. Bring your own exposed roll of film to develop and take your developed negatives home with you.


Introduction to analogue photography workshop (1 Day) £175.00

A day of film based photography - shoot and develop your roll of film and then make a traditional darkroom print. A great introduction to the lovely world of film and the darkroom. Whether you are interested in portraits, landscapes or even still life I can show you how to get what you want from a film camera, developing film and darkroom printing.


Lith printing (1 day) £245.00.

Using easily available Lith papers and chemicals this one-day workshop explores the wonderful world of Lith printing. Workshop participants usually bring a negative to print – all aspects of the process covered.

This fascinating process takes time and patience but the results possible can be fantastic and cannot be achieved any other way. We go through each step on the road to getting a wonderful Lith print, from that point we explore the various creative interpretations this process affords.


Large format photography £175.00

Introduction to large format photography, exploring cameras. lenses. Bring your own or use my monorail camera, shoot and develop large format negatives and create a darkroom print. You'll leave with everything you need to know about the joys of large format photography.

Darkroom Printing (£ on quotation)

Courses are tailored to the wants of each individual so you learn what you want to learn. These are not group sessions where everyone has to do the same thing. The best way to start the ball rolling is to drop me a line and we can go through everything you need.

Ilford sponsor my workshops so I typically use all their materials.

Pinhole (£ on quotation)

Pinhole photography has become increasingly popular over the past year or so especially with the launch of Ilfords Walker Pinhole camera. We can go through anything from camera construction and adaption to getting the most from your pinhole camera, this can be twinned with a film development workshop to really open the possibilities of this technique.

I work with a variety of processes and techniques and offer tuition on many subjects and processes. Tutorials are just my way of passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm and help others create work they feel proud of.
